"Can we have our bell back, please?"
Over the Whit Bank Holiday weekend someone broken into the school grounds, climbed on the roof and removed as much lead as they could carry. The focus of the attack centred on the bell tower and the thieves even took our school bell, which has been in place for as long as anyone can remember.
The robbery was followed by heavy rain and when the Headteacher opened the school on Tuesday, he was greeted by pools of water, water pouring down walls and damaged displays, computers, carpets and equipment. With no lead on the roof, rain water was able to stream into classrooms. Members of staff came into school during their half-term holiday to help clear up the chaos caused.

After hearing of the damage, and that the bell had been stolen, one pupil said: "The bell is the symbol of our school, how could anyone steal it?"
Once the roof has been repaired, we plan to organise some fund-raising events to replace the bell and help towards the costs of repairs.
If there are any individuals or companies that would like to help, please get in touch.
Thank you to those people who have helped so far or have pledged their support
Unfortunately, the insurance policy used by Cheshire schools does not cover them for such acts of vandalism and theft - therefore the school will have to find the several thousand pounds needed for the repairs.
