Learning Mentor
Mrs Furlong is the Learning Mentor at Neston Primary School.
Please read the document below which explains a little more about her role in school.
Learning Mentors work with pupils, families, school staff and other professionals, to help pupils develop their potential by removing barriers to learning which may be in the school or at home.
Mrs Furlong is ELSA trained and works with Mentors in other schools to ensure that pupils in all local schools are supported well.
New Pupils
Our mentor will always make an extra effort to check that pupils have settled well. Mrs Furlong will make contact during the first few days, take time to talk to new pupils and take them on a tour of the school to ensure they are familiar with the building, how we do things and introduce them to members of staff. This support will continue for a few weeks, but the children and their parents are always welcome to contact Mrs Furlong should they need to.
